>> i think governor jindal said all things. the test will come in the months and years about the positions the republican party will have to change. the first test in the fiscal cliff negotiation. are they going to continue to insist that the people at the top who make the most money should not participate in solving the problem. are they going to insist in the beginning of next year when we turn to immigration reform that they're not going to help solve the problem of coming up with a comprehensive immigration reform bill. the problem for the republicans is they have to change positions. when they change positions people in the base will be very unhappy, and it's going to divide the party. but governor jindal is saying all the right things. the questions will be do the actions follow his words? >> also looking back to try to understand what happened during the 2012 election, running mate paul ryan, as you know, said urban voters gave the president the big margin to win. the critics are saying this is about questioning the demo

something you will hear about in 2016, where you used to live in louisiana, the governor, bobby jindal who was a staumplg romney supporter, that these remarks by romney are categorically untrue. >> he did. jindal is as conservative as they get, what he said, we have to stop dividing the american voters. if we are going to be a competitive party and when elections on the national stage, and continue to fight for our conservative principles, we need two messages to get out loudly and clearly. one, we are fighting for 100% of the votes. and second, our policies, benefit every american who wants to pursue the american dream. period. a lot of infighting between republicans. as they try to sort through the aftermath of the election here. but it is reminiscent, these comments, about the 47% tape. i'm confused as to how contraception, health care or college loans are racial issues and how they are -- they're gifts to people, as opposed to tools to help people live a better or healthier life. >> you have to think this, this phone call with some of the top donors. here he was, they gave basicall

i'm sure that governor romney is spending time with his family. and my hope is before the end of the year, though, we have a chance to sit down and talk. there are certain aspects of governor romney's record and his ideas that i think could be very helpful. to give you one example, i think he did a terrific job running the olympics. and that skill set of trying to figure out how do we make something work better applies to the federal government. there are a lot of ideas that i don't think are partisan ideas but are just smart ideas about how can we make the federal government more customer friendly, how can we make sure that we're consolidating programs that are duplicative. how can we eliminate additional waste? he presented ideas in the course of the campaign that i agree with and so it would be interesting to talk to him about smog -- something like that. there may be ideas he has with respect to jobs and growth that can help middle class families that i want to hear. so i'm not either prejudges what he's interested in doing, nor am i suggestin
